INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
In this video we’ll walk you through the fuse update on your Rockford Fosgate’s Jeep Audio system.
Welcome back I’m Eric with Rockford Fosgate and today we’ll be walking you through the fuse update on our 2020 Jeep Gladiator equipped with the 20GLADR-STG5 audio kit that can be done in under 15 minutes.
This update will be identical on the 18WRNGLER-STG5 and 24WRNGLER-STG3 audio kits, in addition to the 24WRNGLR-FOX kit equipped in 2024 and newer Rocky Ridge Jeep Wranglers.
Tools Required
To get started, you’ll need the following kit which is available from Rockford Fosgate. It includes (1) 80A MAXI BLADE, 32V FUSE and (2) M6x1x6.2 nickel plated screws. You’ll also need:
- 3mm Allen Wrench or hex bit
- 5mm Allen Wrench or hex bit
- Torque wrench that can be adjusted to 4-Newton Meters
Getting Started
Before you start, make sure the vehicle is cooled down. When you’re ready, open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal using a 10mm socket or adjustable wrench.
Update Fuse Process
- Locate the Rockford Fosgate fuse holder and depress the top two edges to disengage the cover, then remove the cover from the fuse holder.
- Use the 5mm Allen Wrench or hex bit to loosen the (2) M8x1 screws that retain the existing 150A ANL fuse.
- Remove the 150A fuse and discard as this will no longer be needed.
- Verify the new fuse is 80A. Place it into the middle of the fuse block between the two retaining clips.
- Thread the (2) M6x1x6.2 screws into the retaining clips. Verify the fuse is properly seated, then torque the screws to 2-Newton Meters (about 17.7-inch pounds)
- Re-tighten the (2) M8x1 screws with washers back onto the fuse block (without the ANL fuse) and Torque to 4-Newton Meters (about 35.4-inch pounds)
- Position the bottom edge of the fuse cover on the assembly, then depress the top two edges to snap the top of the fuse cover into place.
- Now we’re ready to replace the negative terminal on our battery and get this Jeep back on the trails.
