Can you tell me more information about the aftermarket Harley-Davidson subwoofer system?
Can I order just 1 subwoofer?
The HD14-SBSUB is a dual-subwoofer installation kit, and includes the below components. Watch this video (H-D Sub Product Overview) for a complete overview of the following components:
- Two 10" Element Ready™ subwoofers

- One 800W amplifier
- Installation templates
- Installation harnesses
- Installation hardware
Can I remove 1 subwoofer or do both subs need to be connected to the amp?
The system is flexible enough to be used with either one or two subwoofers operating at the same time. You can remove the clutch side subwoofer when luggage space is required for touring purposes. This will not hurt the amplifier in any way. As a Harley rider, you know the importance of your center of gravity. So, if you remove a subwoofer, you'll need to distribute the weight evenly among both bags.
What location does the subwoofer vent towards?
The subwoofer fires toward the rear wheel through a vent.
Where does the amplifier mount?
The amplifier mounts on the inside rear of the saddlebag on the brake side of the motorcycle.
Does the motorcycle need to be re-flashed?
No, If your Harley-Davidson has an existing aftermarket Rockford Fosgate TMS audio system, the bike should have previously been flashed with our Rockford Fosgate 2014+ All Bikes flash setting. This should have been done using the TechnoResearch flash tool for all 2014 and newer STAGE2 and STAGE3 systems and does not need to be redone to add the Subwoofer system.
Does the subwoofer work with BOOM or OEM systems?
No, the aftermarket Rockford Fosgate HD14-SBSUB system is not designed to work with any factory BOOM!™ Audio or Harley-Davidson Audio Powered by Rockford Fosgate audio systems. A complete compatibility chart is available under the COMPATABILITY tab on the HD14-SBSUB Product Details page.
