What is a "capacitor charge card" and do I need it to install my energy storage cap?
The Charge Card is ONLY used when first installing the capacitor. The purpose of the Charge Card is to equalize the voltage of the capacitor with the vehicle battery. This helps prevent sparking/arcing when the capacitor is initially connected to the amplifier.

Using the Capacitor Charge Card
Using the Capacitor Charge Card
The Charge Card is ONLY used when first installing the capacitor. The purpose of the Charge Card is to equalize the voltage of the capacitor with the vehicle battery. This helps prevent sparking/arcing when the capacitor is initially connected to the amplifier.
- Below is shown the two ways you can connect the Charge Card to your capacitor. Either by directly mounting the card, or by connecting the blue positive (+) and yellow negative (–) wires to the capacitor.
- Connect the red positive (+) and black negative (–) wires to the vehicle battery. Wait a few moments and the capacitor will be charged. The Green LED will illuminate when the voltage reaches above 10 volts. If your battery (at rest) is below 10 volts, the Green LED will not illuminate, however, it is still safely charged.
- Remove the Charge Card and connect the capacitor to the amplifier as shown in the instructions that came with it.
